Proud of East Texas: Jim and Cherry Day

When Jim and Cherry Day met and married four years ago, they not only found a new and special life in East Texas , they found new careers as artists. Jim, a Psychologist and former Professor at Texas Woman's University, sculpts in wood while his wife Cherry sculpts in clay.

Cherry's works are re- creatd in limited edition bronzes, while Jim's sculptures are often determined by the individual pirces of wood he uses.

The Days may ask each others' advice on balance and composition but for the most part their work is kept separate. They do say that sharing a love for the creative process is exciting to both of them. That ingredient seems to be a recipe for success in marriage and in art.
