John Tyler Wants No Association With Sunday Brawl On Its Campus

Anyone can access the baseball field at John Tyler High School, which is where two adult league baseball teams got into a fight Sunday afternoon. Two people were injured. Tyler police say a combination of alcohol brought on site, and past conflicts between the two teams led to the fight. The principal at John Tyler High says no one at the school gave these teams permission to play on their field. "I would just like to say up front that the people that were using the field, it was an unauthorized use of the field. There were no John Tyler students or no adults associated with John Tyler involved in the event," school Principal Mike McFarland.

McFarland also says he would like to see changes made on the accessibility of their playing fields, something TISD says it plans to discuss in a meeting Tuesday morning.
