Gilmer woman dies in two-vehicle wreck in Upshur County

UPSHUR COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A Gilmer woman died in the two-vehicle wreck in Upshur County Sunday.

At about 1:21 p.m., troopers withe the Department of Public Safety responded to a fatal wreck on FM-1650 in Upshur County, eight miles east of Gilmer.

According to the preliminary crash investigation, a 2005 Dodge Dakota, driven by Jimmy Earl Moore, 76, of Longview, failed to yield the right of way while exiting a private drive on the west side of FM-726 to a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by Taylor Blane Ehrensberger, 18, of Gilmer. The PT Cruiser was traveling south on the roadway at the time of the crash.

Ehrensberger was killed in the crash. She was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Rebecca Skinner and transported to McWhorter Funeral Home in Gilmer.

Moore was transported to Longview Regional Hospital in stable condition, according to DPS.

The crash remains under investigation.
