LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Newton's Laws of Motion, rocket propulsion, the solar system; those are all great topics for kids to be interested in, but a summer camp in Longview really got their minds engaged this week.
A group of elementary kids wrapped up Rocket Camp at LeTourneau University (LETU) on Friday, learning about all of the science-related preparations that go into blasting off rockets much larger than what they would be handling. In this case, camp really was rocket science.
Lee Wilkinson, camp director at LETU, helped campers build their own rockets, which were launched Friday at the end of their camp journey.
Unfortunately, rocket camp is over, but there are openings in other camps. For more information click here.
