LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - A juvenile who allegedly led officers on a high-speed pursuit from Longview to Dallas in a stolen vehicle is now in custody.
The suspect, who has not been identified at this time, was taken into custody and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest in a vehicle.
The chase began at 4:34 a.m. Thursday when a Longview Police Department officer noticed a person driving a 2014 green Dodge Ram with no headlights on at Highway 80 and H.G. Mosley Parkway in Longview.
Police say the officer believed the driver to be intoxicated because they were driving erratically.
"When the officers activated their overhead lights and sirens the driver refused to stop," LPD said in a news release.
A pursuit began and continued west on Highway 80 until the driver exited off. Police say the driver later got back onto Highway 80 and headed toward Dallas, at times reaching speeds of more than 100 mph.
During the pursuit officers also determined that the vehicle was stolen.
Other agencies joined in the pursuit and officials also attempted to spike the driver's tires.
The driver eventually came to a stop near South Ervay Street and Interstate 30 in Dallas at 5:55 a.m.
No one was injured and the incident remains under investigation.
