Tyler police: 1 suspect in shooting at Fun Forest Park in custody, 1 remains at large

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Police have arrested one person suspected in a shooting that injured three people at Fun Forest Park in Tyler.

Tuesday evening, Tyler Police Department officers arrested Datreon Kentaral Jackson, 23, of Tyler. Jackson is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and has two charges of aggravated assault causes serious bodily injury in connection with the May shooting. Police say Jackson turned himself in.

He was booked into the Smith County Jail and his bond is set at $900,000.

Police say one other suspect in the shooting, Davonta Hill, remains at large.

On May 30, officers responded to the 2000 block of Forest Avenue in response to a shots fired call. The call quickly led to investigations at multiple crime scenes.

Police say two men were shot and one woman was injured from broken glass caused by gunfire. Two vehicles were also damaged by gunfire.

Investigators also learned there had been previous altercations between the people involved and a rivalry existed.

Officers also say they had reason to believe the suspects had been involved in previous drive-by shootings.

The case remains under investigation.
