East Texas man arrested after allegedly shooting, killing victim during argument

HUNT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The Hunt County Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect in a murder investigation.

On June 4 at about 6:54 p.m., the sheriff's office responded to a disturbance call in the 8000 block of Bear Hill Road in Royse City. When they arrived, deputies say they found the body of a man lying just inside the front door. They say they then searched the home looking for any other victims or a suspect. They found a man sitting in one of the bedrooms.

That man, Randall Kevin Baker, 65, was identified as the suspect. He was arraigned on Tuesday morning on the charge of murder, and Justice of the Peace Wayne Money set his bond at $1,000,000.

Investigators say they learned that the victim, Jack Wright, 58, lived in the home where he was found dead. They say that Wright and Baker were involved in an argument when Baker allegedly fired a shot at Wright, killing him.

There are not believed to be any other suspects involved in the case.
