MARSHALL, TX (KLTV) - Is this the battle of the bridges?
Longview's Green Street bridge is notorious for taking on many truck drivers and winning. But a Marshall's Grove Street overpass might be giving the "Monster" some competition.
The overpass is racking up collisions.
A statement was posted on the Marshall Police Department Facebook page warning drivers to be cautious following two wrecks within 24 hours. Both times trucks failed to clear the 10 foot 8-inch clearance, Public Information Officer Kelly Colvin confirmed.
About 2:30 p.m. Monday, a charter bus became stuck under the bridge, Colvin said. And about 10 a.m. Tuesday, a moving van became stuck. No injuries were reported in either incident.
"Reminder: The clearance height for the overpass on Grove St between W Grand Ave and Bruckmuller St is 10ft 8in. Twice in the last 24 hours we've responded to accidents at this location because the vehicles couldn't clear the overpass. No injuries were reported but the vehicles sustained a good bit of damage. Please drive carefully," the department post reads.
