HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas man was convicted of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Jesse Wilson, 21, of Gun Barrel City was convicted on May 24 in the Henderson County 173rd District Court on two separate counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child for allegedly sexually abusing a young girl over the span of three years.
According to the Henderson County District Attorney's Office, the incidents began in 2013 when Wilson was 17 and he began dating the victim's relative.
The district attorney's office says the abuse of the child began when Wilson moved in with the child's family. The girl was 9 years old at the time.
The abuse continued until 2016 when the child made an outcry to her relative, the district attorney's office says.
Wilson was arrested in October 2016 and was booked into the Henderson County jail.
The investigator of the case, the victim and several other witnesses testified before the jury.
Wilson's sentencing is scheduled for July 23. According to the district attorney's office, he faces 5 to 99 years in prison or a life sentence.
