Texas Teachers Unite Against State Officials

Teachers in Texas say it's time to demand accountability and respect from state, elected officials. They call themselves No Texas Teacher Left Behind. They are a grassroots organization that is trying to unite teachers across the state. Members say many teachers do not know how poor teachers are treated in the state. They say the time is now to unite.

"We decided that we would most definitely unite every single teacher in Texas," said Martha Wright, member. "Those teachers' families and friends and see if we could get them all in an agreement as to what we needed to do, and teachers will make a difference in the next state election."

The group will be having a meeting this Tuesday night, September 13th at 6:00 p.m. It will be held in Big Sandy at the Church of God. They say every teacher and their families are welcome to attend. For more information log onto www.notexasteacherleftbehind.com.
