SWEPCO: Power outage in Kilgore area caused by car wreck

KILGORE, TX (KLTV) -

On Monday night, a car wreck caused a power outage for some Kilgore residents.

According to SWEPCO, at around 5 p.m. a vehicle wrecked into a pole, knocking power out. Estimated restoration time is 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

Residents off of Parkview Street said that their power immediately went out. A witness on Myrtle Street said that Kilgore police asked a group of neighbors whether they had seen a Hispanic female in the area. The officers had K9s with them to assist. No word yet on whether the woman was responsible for the wreck, or if she was found. We have reached out to Kilgore police for more information.
