RUSK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Two people were killed an one other seriously injured after a two-vehicle head-on collision in Rusk County.
The crash occurred about 9:57 p.m. Saturday on Highway 315 in Rusk County, about 5 miles southwest of Mount Enterprise.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says Tanetrius Lashae Moten, 27, of Sherwood, Arkansas and Mesha Lamb 27, of Alexander, Arkansas were killed in the crash. Another driver, Jose Macias, 44, of Houston, was injured.
According to a preliminary DPS crash report, Macias was driving a 2010 Kenworth tractor-truck and towing a semi-trailer while traveling northeast on Highway 315. Moten was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata and traveling southwest.
DPS says Moten attempted to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone and collided with Macias' vehicle head-on.
Macias was transported to an area hospital in serious condition. Moten was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to Crawford Crim Funeral Home in Henderson. Lamb was taken to an area hospital where she later died. She was pronounced dead Monday and her body was take to Crawford Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.
The crash remains under investigation.
