Tyler Police Department Inspects Car Seats

Members of the Tyler Police Department came out to Hall Buick GMC today to inspect child passenger seats. It was part of Hall Buick GMC's grand opening. The Tyler Police Department was there from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Part of the inspection process is teaching parents how to install their car seats properly. The police department also inspects the car seat to make sure it's the right size for the child using it. Officer James McCraw says many parents don't even realize their children are unsafe.

"It's really a good thing to take advantage of if your unsure about how to secure you children because we see a lot of kids out here that are on these seats that are not properly secured.  So in an accident, even if they are in a seat they could be thrown out of the vehicle," said McCraw.

If you would like your child seat inspected, call the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1096 to set up an appointment.
