Officials understand that some evacuees are looking for work while in the area.
The Texas Workforce Commission is working to help find jobs for evacuees who can work. Job assistance is available at the Tyler TWC office, 4100 Troup Hwy. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The phone number is 903-561-8131.

To help evacuees find jobs, the East Texas Workforce Center in Tyler will be holding a job fair on Friday. The job fair in Tyler is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at the Tyler Workforce Center, 4100 Troup Hwy. 

Evacuees looking for jobs can also go to www.workintexas.com to register and be matched with a job.
