HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A Henderson County man was arrested Wednesday after he fled deputies and was seen throwing items out of car window.
Michael Basye, 56, was arrested near Loop 7 and Cayuga Drive after he fled a traffic stop. While fleeing deputies, Basye was seen throwing items out of the drivers' window of his vehicle.
Basye's vehicle was searched, and the items that were thrown out while he fled were recovered, which included illegal drugs, according to the sheriff's office.
Basye was charged with a First Degree Felony for manufacture or delivery of a substantial amount of the controlled substance.
That crime is punishable by up to 99 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000. Basye was also charged with a Third Degree Felony of tampering with evidence, carrying a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. He also faces a State Jail Felony of up to two years behind bars and another $10,000 fine for evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle.
Basye is currently in the Henderson County Jail on a $19,000 bond.
