Worlds Largest Grill Stops In Longview

A huge piece of cooking equipment is headed to Houston to help feed evacuees housed at the Astrodome. The world's largest cooking grill, from "Johnsonville Brats" in Sheboygan Wisconsin, stopped in Longview today. The company and employees are donating their time and materials to feed Katrina evacuees around the country. Recognized by Guinness as the World's Largest Grill, the monster is 65 feet long and weighs 53-thousand pounds.

On the menu will be bratwurst. "The whole grill cooks up about 2500 brats and hour, we've got 4 grills up there four steam tables four sinks with hot and cold running water and a freezer that holds almost 10-thousand brats" says Johnsonville Brats representative Josh Majewski.

The rig is expected to be in Houston tomorrow. Johnsonville expects to serve 125- thousand brats while they're there.
