TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Every Mother’s Day, families find a way to show the special women in their lives just how much they mean to them, but one East Texas mom wasn’t expecting to celebrate Mother’s Day until next year.

“My due date was on the 21st but he came early; I just started crying once they put him on my chest," new mom, Erika Avellaneda said.

At 3:37 this morning, Erika and Alan welcomed their son Maximiliano into the world. He is their first child.

“It's like something you can’t explain; that moment when you see your son being born it’s like just so special like you want to cry, you want to laugh, you just want to celebrate it’s unbelievable," new dad, Alan Tapia said.

The new parents tell us their baby is named after a soccer player because they share a love and passion for the sport.

Avellaneda said she is excited to become a new mom on Mother's Day.

“I truly did receive the best Mother’s Day gift ever. He’s so calm [he] doesn’t even cry, he’s such a good baby,” she said.

Even though today is meant to celebrate moms and loved ones, Avellaneda said she’ll be celebrating the birth of her baby boy.
