Camp Corral helps military children

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - A booth at an East Texas trade days event is focused on helping the children of America's fallen military members.

At the Longview Trade Days at the fairgrounds, a group called Camp Corral is collecting money through ticket sales to help the children of our fallen military go to a special camp.

Founded and sponsored by Golden Corral, the effort is to help children who have lost a parent in military service to join with other children at a camp to share their experience and to heal from it.

Employees of Golden Corral man the booth for an effort that has been going on for the last 8 years."We raise money to help the families, to not have the expenses. They're kids get to spend time with other kids that are going through the same stuff they are,"  says Golden Corral employee Gabby Crouch.

The group needs to raise around 6-hundred dollars to send each child to camp.

The group will be at Longview's Trade Days every 2nd full weekend of the month.
