(KLTV) - UT Tyler Patriots won 31 straight posting a 38-1 record, winning their 5th ASC championship. Now they hope to duplicate 2016 when they won the national championship. Andrea Gonzalez who is an infielder, says this team is very trusting of one another and they are close knit. Coach Mike Reed tells KLTV this is a fun bunch to coach, because they hold themselves accountable. Patriots open play in the regionals against a familiar foe, East Texas Baptist Univ, who they beat on Sunday 2-0. But the team realizes what happened in the past is in the past, this is a whole new season of hope. However it's hard to deny the Patriots hot win streak, and being ranked third in the nation of Division III. They're hoping to land in Oklahoma City where the championships will be held, so in the big picture this team is on a championship mission.
