Several fire departments responded to a storage facility fire on Monday evening.

According to Smith County Fire Marshal Connie Wasson, the call came in just after 5 p.m. The call was for a storage building at 17900 Old Jacksonville Hwy, with visible flames. The report was for unit 18 in that storage facility. Our reporter at the scene says this storage facility is behind the Timber Creek Crossing shopping center.

Inside the storage facility, a truck could be seen and, of course, it was damaged in the fire. No cause for this fire is known as of Monday night.

Traffic is being detoured by fire officials; please use caution in the area and watch for pedestrians and people directing traffic.

Bullard, Flint-Gresham, and Noonday fire departments were on scene, as well as the Smith County Fire Marshal's Office.

Traffic in all directions on Old Jacksonville Hwy was closed until just after 7:00 PM from FM 2813 to CR 133.

It has since reopened.
