Greenville police respond to pedestrian struck by vehicle

GREENVILLE, TX (KLTV) -

Greenville Police:

On May 4, 2018, at 8:29 pm, the Greenville Police Department responded to the 3300 block of Sockwell Boulevard in reference to a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the suspect vehicle had fled the scene and the pedestrian was lying in the roadway.

The pedestrian, who was identified as Milton Griggs, was taken to Medical City Plano for treatment.

On May 7, 2018, the Greenville Police Department was notified that Mr. Griggs had died after succumbing to his injuries.

Griggs was 47 years old. The investigation is still on-going.

The suspect vehicle is a newer model white extended cab or crew cab pickup truck last seen heading towards Celeste on Highway 69. According to a witness and parts found at the scene, it is possible the vehicle was a 2014-15 Chevrolet Silverado.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
