Therapet Pays Visit To Tyler Shelter

People aren't the only ones trying to cheer up hurricane evacuees. This morning, five dogs paid a visit to evacuees at the First Christian Church in Tyler. The dogs are with Therapet, an animal- assisted therapy group that visits hospitals in the area.

Children and adults got to play with the dogs. Therapet's mascot, Healer, also came along to greet evacuees.

"A lot of these children and their families lost their animals in the hurricane because they were unable to bring them," said Rachel Beesinger a Therapet volunteer.

Organizers say they plan to pay another visit to the center soon.
