Lion's Roar Returning To John Tyler

When Thomas Brooks joined the John Tyler family last January he was greeted with heavy anticipation.
He promised to roll up his sleeves and start rebuilding the ""Cujo"" spirit. It's still early, but no one can deny, John Tyler fans have reason to smile. Two reasons in fact.
Saturday night, they were in Coach Brook's old stomping grounds to let the hometown see how the coach is doing, battling Port Arthur Memorial in Beaumont.
The Titans would get the lead in the first when Clarence Williams took it in in for the touchdown. 7 to 0, PAM.
Still in the first though, JT's Kendall Hunter would give Coach Brooks something to smile about in his homecoming, with a 15 yard touchdown run.
In the second quarter it was all "Cujo". Kendall Hunter again, 12 yards in to the zone. His second touchdown of the night.
Then later in the second, as the clock runs out Kerry Maddox to Teddy Williams, the hail Mary for 36 yard, touchdown Lions.
They would lead 21 to 7 at the half.
In the third, it would be Kerry Maddox taking the ball in, with a little shake and bake, 64 yards to the end of the field.
28 to 7, your final score. John Tyler picking up it's second win. A team that won only two games all of last year, has matched their total in the first two appearances.
Coach Brooks gets the win in his homecoming.
"It was a special feeling to see my mom and my family," he said after the game. "They got to come watch the game. It's just good to be in southeast Texas."
John Tyler meets Arlington Bowie on Friday at Trinity Mother Francis Rose Stadium.
