(KLTV) - While NFL draft prospects are anxiously waiting to hear their name called, so are their parents. Dylan Cantrell, a super tough wide receiver from Whitehouse, very much impressed the scouts at the combine. Now mom and dad can share the pressure.
Kenny and Shelly Cantrell know all too well about East Texas football. Dad played high school football at John Tyler and Dylan's mother was an Apache Belle, so they're knee deep in football tradition.
Both are proud of Dylan's opportunity to follow his dream and take it to the next level. And both realize there are no guarantees; the NFL is not a world of niceness. They respect what he's done up to this point. And his mother says when she asked on the day of draft rounds 2 and 3 if her son was "going to take a day off from working out," Dylan replied, "there at no days to take off."
It's that kind of attitude that goes a long way with NFL scouts and coaches.
