Evacuee Fundraiser Held By Local Radio Stations

Thursday, radio stations were getting into the spirit of helping evacuees. The East Texas Radio Group along with KLTV teamed up for an incredibly successful fundraiser. Four radio station collected money for the "Hurricane Relief Drive" in various establishements throughout east Texas. KYKX radio received a huge response at Longview's "Maude Cobb Activity Center". In Tyler, radio station KOYE collected money at a local grocery store. Person after Person dropped by to donate money for hurricane victims. KOYE employees say they are proud of the outpouring they've seen from the community. Other stations that took place in today's drive: sunny 106.5, KYKX 105.7, and KKUS 104.1. The drive ended at 7:00 pm.

As of 8:30 Thursday evening, the four stations had raised $65- thousand dollars and counting for Red Cross relief.
