TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The Rose City Farmers Market made its spring debut April 7, in a new location.
After three years in south Tyler, the market will now be held at 236 South Broadway Avenue, just outside of Unclaimed Furniture across from the "Off the Square" shopping center.
Jessica Bullock, the market's co-director, says the move downtown was made in part to support revitalization efforts in the area.
"Our market has a really high volume of foot traffic when we are open," says Bullock. "Pushing a lot of people to the downtown area is going to be supporting all the other businesses that obviously need our community support."
Every Saturday from 8-12 shoppers will find fresh produce, along with a variety of other locally made items and treats.
"All of these farmers and artisans they're artists of their craft," says Bullock. "You get to learn from them about their product and how to use it in your own kitchen, it's a rewarding experience to shop at a farmers market."
The Rose City Farmers Market will be open every Saturday through November 17.
