Tornado watch, warnings issued for multiple East Texas counties

The National Weather Service has issued multiple severe weather alerts for East Texas counties.

11 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Cherokee County until midnight. 


11 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Anderson County through 12 a.m.

10 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for Angelina, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine and Shelby counties.

9:50 p.m.

Tornado watch canceled for Gregg and Smith counties canceled. The watch is still in effect for Angelina, Cherokee, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby and Sabine counties through 11 p.m.

9:06 p.m.

Tornado warning for Shelby and San Augustine counties has been allowed to expire.

8:45 p.m.:

Severe thunderstorm warning for Henderson and Van Zandt counties until 9:15 p.m.

8:47 p.m.

Tornado warning for Shelby, San Augustine counties through 9:15 p.m. The NWS released this statement on the warnings, "At 844 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 9 miles south of Timpson, or 9 miles west of Center, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."

8:35 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Smith, Wood and Upshur counties through 8:32 p.m. The NWS said at 8:32 p.m. severe thunderstorms were located from near Quitman to Mineola and near Van, moving about 45 mph. Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail.

8:24 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby and Sabine counties through 9:15 p.m.

Tornado warnings have expired for Panola and Shelby counties

8:09 p.m.

Panola and Shelby counties under tornado warning until 8:45 p.m.
 

7:44 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warning until 8:30 p.m. for Panola, Rusk, and Shelby counties
 

7:28 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warning for Van Zandt and Hunt counties until 8:30 p.m.

7:24 p.m.

Thunderstorm warning in effect until 8 p.m. for Panola and Harrison counties

6:50 p.m.

The NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Harrison and Marion counties through 7:30 p.m.

6:25 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Hunt County until 7:30 p.m.

6:24 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Harrison and Panola counties until 7:15 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warning for Camp, Cass, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Moris, Titus and Upshur counties through 6:45 p.m.

5:42 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warning for Camp, Franklin, Morris, Red River, Titus, Upshur, and Wood counties until 6 p.m.

5:18 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warning for Camp, Franklin, Morris, Red River, Titus, Upshur and Wood counties until 6 p.m. Tornado warning for Cass and Marion counties until 5:45 p.m.

5:10 p.m.

All tornado warnings canceled.

Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Hopkins County.

5 p.m.

The NWS says at 4:56 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Marshall, moving 40 mph with half-inch hail and winds in excess of 30 mph.

The NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Bowie, Cass, Harrison and Marion counties through 6 p.m.

4:45 p.m.

The NWS has issued a new tornado warning for portions of Cass and Marion counties through 5:30 p.m.

4:30 p.m.

A tornado warning has expired for Morris County.

Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Franklin and Titus counties through 5:15 p.m.

4:20 p.m.

New tornado warning issued for Bowie, Cass and Morris counties through 5 p.m.

4:10 p.m.

Tornado warning canceled for Bowie, Morris, Red River and Titus counties.

A severe thunderstorm warning has issued for Cass, Morris, Red River and Titus counties.

4 p.m.

Tornado warnings have been issued for portions of Bowie, Morris, Red River and Titus counties through 4:30 p.m.

3:45 p.m.

A tornado watch has been issued for multiple counties in East Texas through 11 p.m. Friday. 

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Cass, Morris and Titus counties until 4:30 p.m.
