SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The Smith County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man, who they say, assaulted a female victim.

Deputies are looking for Michael Xavier Medlock, 24.

On Sunday, March 25th, at approximately 4:30 a.m., the Smith County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting an assault in the 13000 block of County Road 192. Smith County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the location where they encountered a female who was suffering from multiple injuries.

The female stated that she was assaulted by Medlock. Medlock had entered the residence while she was asleep. Medlock appeared to be agitated and became aggressive. He then assaulted the victim by placing his hands around her neck and began choking her. During the assault, the victim tried to escape through a window but was pulled back into the residence by Medlock. This action caused a large laceration to the victim’s arm.

When Medlock observed a large amount of blood coming from the victim’s arm he stopped his assault and fled the location. The victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

On April 5th, detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Medlock for Aggravated Assault F/V Impede Breath/Circulation, a second-degree felony. The warrant was signed by Judge Russell from the 7th District Court.

Bond is set at $200,000.
