UPSHUR COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A man who the Upshur County district attorney says was charged in 2014 with intoxication manslaughter and then fled the country is back in custody.

Noe Paz-Aguillon, 30, was arrested on two felony warrants from 2014. The warrants stem from the offenses of intoxication manslaughter of Charles Gibbs of Overton, and aggravated assault with deadly weapon for Carol Gibbs of Overton on January 18, 2014.

Aguillon was taken to the hospital following the wreck, the DA says, where he remained until February 1, 2014. When released from the hospital, he was released to the custody of the Upshur County Sheriff's Office, and then on February 4, he was released to the federal authorities for an ICE detainer.

Once in federal custody, Aguillon was taken to a facility in Dallas, where he was released under house arrest, county officials say. They say he then fled the country and went to Mexico.

Aguillon eventually reentered the U.S. illegally, the DA's office says, and was apprehended in Oklahoma on Wednesday, April 4. He is back in the Upshur County Jail. No bond will be set and he is awaiting trial for both felony offenses, according to the district attorney's office.
