Smith County Sheriff's Office: Driver suffered medical emergency, drove truck through Tyler business

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Deputies with The Smith County Sherriff's Office were called to the scene of a truck through a building on Wednesday evening.

It happened around 6 p.m. at the Eco Commerical Roofing business on State Highway 31 West in Tyler, behind Dairy Queen.

Deputies along with Dixie Fire and EMS responded.

Sgt. Darrell Coslin with the Smith County Sheriff's Office tells KLTV the driver reportedly suffered from extremely high blood pressure and drove a white Chevrolet pickup into the building. The driver was treated for injuries.

Coslin says a female employee inside the business was pinned behind a desk for a brief time but was able to get out and only suffered minor injuries.

The truck was removed from the building and towed from the scene.
