The Alamo hits the road for a statewide tour

TEXAS - The Alamo may soon be in a city near you!

The Alamo Roadshow has announced the location and dates of its tour across Texas.

The show will stop in nine cities starting in El Paso on April 9.

The Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush stated, "The Alamo Roadshow is an opportunity for history enthusiasts to learn about the plan to preserve the Alamo and to build the state's largest Texas Revolution museum, as well as to share their own artifacts and historic family treasures."

The Alamo Roadshow tour dates and locations:

April 9: El Paso (El Paso Museum)
April 10: Midland (Haley Library)
April 11: Lubbock (Texas Tech National Ranching Heritage Center)
April 12: Abilene (National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature)
April 18: Tyler (Tyler ISD Career & Technology Center)
April 19: Rockwall (Rockwall Courthouse)
April 24: Bryan/College Station (Texas A&M University)
April 25: Waco (Mayborn Museum Complex)
April 30: McAllen (Edinburg History Museum)
