Gregg County officials find Liberty City church bus fires 'caused by human action'

GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The Gregg County Fire marshal along with ATF agents have concluded that the bus fires at the First Baptist Church of Liberty City were caused by human action.

All of the information gathered from the scene indicates that the fire was set by a person, however, it's unknown whether or not it was accidental or intentional. 

Three church buses were severely damaged by fire in the early morning hours of March 27. It happened in the parking lot of First Baptist Church of Liberty City in the 4700 block of FM 1252 in Gregg County.

A bus and a van were completely gutted by fire, and a second bus severely damaged. Pastor Paul Michael Vacca says firefighters were notified shortly before 5 a.m. of the fire.

Crime Stoppers offers a reward of $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of persons responsible for a felony crime.
