HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A Henderson County woman is behind bars after a drug raid Wednesday.
Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said deputies conducted the raid at a residence on Hillcrest Drive in the Sunrise Shores subdivision south of Chandler.
Veronica Wortman, 49, was arrested and charged with first-degree felony for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
Hillhouse said Wortman was at the home with a substantial amount of methamphetamine.
"The methamphetamine was packaged and ready for sale on the streets, but the investigation by our team stopped her before this poison could make it to her customers," Hillhouse said.
Hillhouse said the substantial amount of methamphetamine Wortman was processing for sale carries a penalty of up to $10,000 and up to 99 years in state prison.
