EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Good Thursday morning, East Texas! Another cool start with temperatures in the 40s and clear skies this morning. Clouds will be gradually increasing through the day becoming partly to mostly cloudy by afternoon. A few places this afternoon and evening could see some isolated showers. Temperatures will reach the lower 70s this afternoon. Cloudy and mild tonight with temperatures only dropping into the lower 60s by tomorrow morning. Friday will be mostly cloudy and warm with afternoon high temperatures reaching near 80 degrees ahead of an advancing cold front. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible during the day Friday but the main threat for severe weather will be late Friday night. A FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY is in effect Friday evening and overnight into Saturday morning as a strong cold front pushes through East Texas. A line of thunderstorms will develop along the cold front and push through overnight. High winds and hail look to be the main threats at this time. Rain will end Saturday morning and much of the day Saturday will be breezy and cool with temperatures in the 50s most of the day. Sunshine will return Sunday, but temperatures will stay below average in the 60s Sunday afternoon.
