TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Police are responding to a wreck after a vehicle struck a utility pole Monday afternoon in Tyler.

The crash occurred about 1:15 p.m. at Berta Street and North Broadway Avenue, north of Gentry Parkway. Tyler police say a tractor trailer struck a utility pole, knocking down a power line. Some lanes of traffic have been shut down. Drivers are urged to use caution and seek alternate routes.

The police department released a statement on the crash:

The Tyler Police Department is working a traffic accident involving a tractor trailer that hit a power pole at N. Broadway Ave and E. Berta St., which is just north of Gentry Pkwy. Traffic going north and south in the 900 block of N. Broadway Ave is blocked by the truck and it is not passable at this time in either direction. 

Please avoid this area by using these alternate routes:

If you are traveling north on Broadway Ave take Gentry Pkwy.  If you are traveling south on Broadway Ave take Queen Street. There are no injuries reported in this accident.
