SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Deputies with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Lindale woman accused of waiting until after 9 p.m. to pick up her son from a school bus stop.

Angelic Erazo, 31, is charged with endangering a child. She was arrested on the charge Thursday and posted a $7,500 bond on Monday.

According to the arrest report, Erazo had been living in the 15500 block of Wendell Drive but had been recently evicted. According to the report, the 8-year-old boy was still using the same bus stop and his mother was supposed to pick him up.

The report states the school bus dropped the boy off around 4 p.m. and the sheriff’s office got a call from a neighbor at 7:44 p.m., who said the boy’s mother had not arrived. They said the mother did not show up until around 8 p.m. the day before.

The report states the mother said she had overslept.

CPS was called to the scene to take care of the child and Erazo was arrested.
