EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - A First Alert Weather Day is expected Tuesday afternoon and evening.
A strong cold front will be moving into East Texas Tuesday afternoon. As the front moves into moist air, instability will increase through the afternoon and evening.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop north of Interstate 20 by early afternoon and push south into Deep East Texas through the late afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk, or a 15 percent chance, for severe weather across almost all of East Texas. The main threats with these storms will be high wind, large hail and isolated tornadoes.
The rain should move out of East Texas by late Tuesday night.
