EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Good Monday morning, East Texas! A cold front has moved into the region and is sitting right on top of us. That means a wide range of temperatures from 40s up to the north and 60s down to the south this morning. That wide range of temperatures will stick with us through the day. Northern counties will only reach the mid to upper 60s by afternoon, but southern counties will warm into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Winds will be light, but variable in direction depending on the cold front. This front washes out late today with only a slight chance for rain, but another cold front is on the way and this one will bring showers and thunderstorms by Tuesday afternoon and evening. It's about a 50/50 shot at seeing the rain across East Texas, but those that do see the thunderstorms could also see some severe weather. Tuesday afternoon and evening is a First Alert Weather Day with a slight risk for severe thunderstorms across East Texas. Rain will end late Tuesday night with more sunshine by Wednesday and Thursday. Another cold front and another chance for rain are on the way for Friday into the weekend.
