CASS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - One man is in custody after allegedly going on a rampage and driving heavy machinery through another man's home in Cass County.

According to the Cass County Sheriff's Office, Reagan Shurtleff allegedly drove the vehicle through a home Wednesday night on County Road 2994, near Hughes Springs, after he and the homeowner had a dispute.

The sheriff's office says Shurtleff also destroyed some outbuildings by driving through them and knocked down some utility poles in the area.

The house later caught on fire and burned to the ground. Firefighters were on scene Thursday investigating.

Investigators believe the homeowner was not home at the time of the incident.

Officials say Shurtleff fled and was later caught in a stolen pickup. CCSO says he was also illegally carrying a firearm at the time.

Shurtleff was booked into the Cass County Jail.
