Officers with the Marshall Police Department have arrested the suspect in a March 7 shooting incident at an apartment complex that resulted in a bystander suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Demetrius Tranell Williams, of Marshall, was booked into the Harrison County Jail on Thursday. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two unrelated counts of manufacture or delivery of controlled substance between 1 and 4 grams.
Collectively, Williams' bail amount has been set at $175,000.
According to a press release from the Marshall Police Department, Williams had been wanted for an incident that took place at about 11:05 p.m. on March 7 in the Belaire Manor Apartments in the 1200 block of West Rusk Street.
A fight near the playground resulted in a bystander suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. After the shooter was identified as Williams, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Officers from the Marshall Police Department's narcotics, patrol, and CID divisions found Williams in the 2600 block of East End Blvd. Thursday afternoon, and he was arrested without incident.
