EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - I hope you were able to soak up the sun this week because clouds will be making a comeback. Expect a partly cloudy sky with warm temperatures this afternoon. Highs will peak in the upper 70s. A southerly flow will move in lightly at about 5-10 mph.
More clouds are expected Saturday. The weekend will be mostly cloudy. There are small rain chances through the weekend. Highs will still be in the upper 70s. The beginning of the new work week will kick off with much of the same. Expect a small rain chance Monday, but slightly warmer afternoon temperatures. The afternoon high is expected to be in the lower 80s Monday. From Monday, temperatures will be on a cooling trend.
Though temperatures will be decreasing, rain chances will be increasing. Chances for showers and potentially storms greatly elevate Tuesday and stay raised through Thursday. The widespread rainfall that is expected next week could result in 4-8 inches of rain through the week. A cold front will track through East Texas Wednesday into Thursday. Highs will sink into the mid 60s by Thursday.
