JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) - Known throughout the state of Texas for his unusual name, "Stinky Butt" has finally been caught.
After eluding law enforcement in three east Texas counties, after 4 months on the run, Jacksonville police finally arrested the wanted felon this morning.
Body cam video shows Jacksonville police swarming an apartment room closet, as they arrest 26-year-old Drashaydrian Hunter, who police say goes by the nickname, “Stinky Butt.”
Hunter is the same notorious felon who is accused of a carjacking in Van and taken into custody in November.
He suffered injuries from a suspected car wreck and taken to a Tyler hospital, where he escaped from a Van police officer after he jumped out of a wheelchair.
Jacksonville police say they had not seen or heard from Hunter since the first incident in November, until earlier this month when an anonymous tip told police that he was here in Lincoln Park but the canines and helicopters could not track Hunter down.
Weeks later, Jacksonville police say they received a call from an anonymous tip saying Hunter was barricading himself in a closet at the Jacksonville Pines apartment complex.
Hunter covered himself in clothes and put a black vinyl bag over his head, police say he hoped they wouldn’t know it was him.
“He’s the third wanted violent felon in this many months that we have taken off the streets,” Jacksonville
Hunter was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Jacksonville this morning, he’s also wanted in Van Zandt County for unlawful possession of a firearm, Kaufman County for unauthorized use of a vehicle, and Smith County for escaping while arrested.
Hunter has 5 warrants pending, with bonds totaling $190,000.
He remains in the Cherokee County jail.
