EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Northern 1/2 of East Texas under a SLIGHT RISK for strong to severe storms on Sunday. The southern 1/2 of East Texas is under a MARGINAL RISK for the same. Remember, the Slight Risk means a 15% chance of significant severe storms and a Marginal Risk means a 5% of significant severe storms. The greatest risks, once again, appear to be strong, gusty thunderstorm winds and some pockets of large hail. Some Flash Flooding is possible in the stronger storms. The risk for isolated tornadoes remains low, but NOT out of the question. A cold front is expected to pass through East Texas late on Sunday night. Once the front has moved through your area, the risk for severe weather should diminish quickly.
