EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - First Alert Weather Days have been declared for Friday and Saturday.
Greatest risks appear to be strong winds and some large hail. Isolated tornadoes are not out of the question, but the chances at this time remain fairly low.
Light scattered showers has begun in a few places. A cold front is positioned to the west and is helping with the development of the rain. Rain chances will be small today.
A very small portion of Deep East Texas is placed under a Marginal Risk.
Most of the storm activity will be to our east, in portions of Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Highs will reach near 80 degrees.
Wet weather continues during the weekend. Northern portions of East Texas are under a Marginal Risk for Saturday. Showers and storms have the possibility of becoming severe.
Some of these storms could produce large hail and gusty winds. The risk category is enhanced for Sunday.
Northern portions of East Texas is placed under a Slight Risk, and cities below are placed under a Marginal Risk.
Hail and wind damage will be possible again Sunday. A few of these storms may be ongoing.
The new work week looks pleasant. Sunshine and dry conditions return Monday. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s.
