TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Police have charged the man they say robbed a Tyler credit union at gunpoint back in December.
Wayne Alan Watson, 58, of Fort Worth was served an arrest warrant on Tuesday and charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.
Police say on Dec. 1, 2017, Watson was responsible for robbing the Altra Federal Credit Union at gunpoint, located at 3828 Hwy. 64 West in Tyler.
Numerous Texas law enforcement authorities and the FBI have determined that Watson is also responsible for several aggravated robberies of banks and commercial businesses throughout the State of Texas.
On February 13, 2018, Investigators from the Texas Rangers, FBI, Texas DPS SWAT Team, Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, Tyler Police Department and Wichita Falls Police Department executed a search warrant in Ft. Worth, Texas on Watson's residence. During the search, Watson was located and taken into custody by Wichita Falls Police investigators for an aggravated robbery warrant.
On March 14, 2018, Tyler Police placed the Aggravated Robbery warrant on Watson who is currently in custody by the U.S. Marshal Service and is being held in Fannin County Jail.
His bond was set at $250,000 by Judge Kennedy.
