A Tyler woman has been indicted for an attempted robbery of a Tyler Walmart.

Brittany Michele Cary, 33, of Tyler was arrested in January after being found at a hotel and charged with Robbery.

A tip was received by Crime Stoppers on the identity of the female suspect after the incident occurred at the Walmart, located at Highway 64 west and Loop 323.

Cary allegedly walked up to a cashier and revealed a pistol. She then commanded all of the money from the register to be given to her.  The cashier believed that the gun was fake and refused to give the suspect the money. Cary then allegedly tried to cover her actions with a story and left the Walmart without receiving any money.

After an investigation, a warrant was obtained for Cary’s arrest for robbery.

Cary is still currently in the Smith County Jail. Her bond is set at $25,000.

The Tyler Police Department expressed gratitude for the public’s help in getting her identified and located that led to her arrest.
