CHANDLER, TX (KLTV) - A Henderson County man has been indicted for aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault.
Demetrius Kavonte Moore, 22, is accused of refusing to take a woman home and sexually assaulting her.
According to an arrest affidavit, a Frankston police officer told a deputy on Nov. 2 that a woman reported Moore had sexually assaulted her. The deputy met with a SANE nurse, who said the woman told her she had been assaulted near FM 317 in Chandler.
On Nov. 14, the deputy got a statement from the woman. She reported that she was riding with Moore but he refused to take her home and avoided red lights so she could not get out of the vehicle. She said she repeatedly asked to be taken home but Moore drove her to an area on FM 317 and into the woods. She said he then sexually assaulted her and then said he would take her home, according to the affidavit.
The woman said she fell asleep on the way home and when she woke up, she discovered Moore had deleted video from her phone. However, he did not delete one audio recording of Moore talking during the drive and saying he was going to jail and that she would take away his freedom.
The deputy obtained a warrant for Moore's arrest on Dec. 4. He was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 7
Moore is currently in the Henderson County Jail on a collective bail of $300,000.
