Shots fired at road sign on FM 2207 while people nearby

GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A frightening moment Saturday appeared to originate with someone taking shots at road signs.

Around 1 p.m. Saturday, a shot was fired by a passing vehicle at a road-sign on FM 2207 in Gregg County. What the shooter didn't know was that a KLTV reporter was a short distance behind that sign preparing to do an interview.

A game warden chased after the suspected shooter, weaving in and out of county roads, then searched the area.

However, the car managed to get away.

A 'be on the lookout' warning was issued for what is said to be a white older model Ford F-150 pickup truck that was seen leaving the area of the shot. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gregg County game warden or the Gregg County Sheriff's Office.
