Tyler police: Man posed as UPS driver, stole $63,000 worth of jewelry

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tyler police are searching for a man who posed as UPS delivery driver and stole $63,000 worth of jewelry from Zales.

Police say that on Dec. 28, police were contacted by Zales, at 8934 S. Broadway in reference to a theft.

Investigators were told that on Dec. 11, a man entered the store wearing a uniform that resembled a UPS driver's uniform and asked employees if they had any outgoing packages of jewelry for him to pick up.

An employee gave him a pick-up delivery that had $63,000 worth of jewelry, police say.

The suspect then left the store.

The man is described as a white male, in his late 40s or 50s with a medium build. Police say he may have been driving a Silver Hyundai Elantra.
