LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Upshur County Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene of a shooting this morning and found two people dead inside a residence.

The call came in around 9 a.m. from a residence on Private Road 1999, off of 1844, near Highway 271.

Deputies discovered two people dead inside the home from apparent gunshot wounds. A third person was inside the house when deputies arrived. That person was injured and was transported to the hospital.

The suspect reportedly took off after the shooting. Deputies put out a description of the suspect's vehicle. He was discovered in Longview in the 3,000 block of  Highway 80 and West Loop 281 and was arrested.

The Upshur County Sheriff's Office released the following information on Tuesday evening:

At approximately 0900 hours on March 6, 2018, deputies were dispatched to 1011 PR 1999 in reference to a shooting call. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that two persons were deceased at the scene and another person was injured, all from apparent gunshot wounds.

Adkin's bond has been set at $4 million.

Union Grove schools were put on a soft lockdown for a brief amount of time, according to the Upshur County Sheriff's Office. The school was never in any kind of danger, it was just a precaution.
